Definitely the most fabulous of the headlines talks, and appropriately so as he was the headlining headliner, Jodie Harsh gave a personal and humorous insight into her career path.
Paul Flynn questioned Jodie on the issues of celebrity, drag, and how she got into the entertainment industry.
‘PRESS IS GOOD’
Jodie doesn’t believe she’s a celebrity and in fact that word makes her cringe, complaining ‘to be a celeb these days you don’t even have to have a talent’. However she doesn’t deny how press helped her brand to evolve, never exploiting it but manipulating it for her own amusement.

BE YOURSELF
The drag act that made her stand out wasn’t a planned thought process and Jodie admits that it just sort of happened. Moving to London at 18 she found herself hanging out with drag queens and she herself eventually started dressing up for fun. Liking the attention and fun of drag, so did other people and getting paid by clubs for having fun made her think. She admits her DJ, club promoter and producer brand that she has today is just based on her clubbing, ‘always go out clubbing, meet people’.

EXPERIENCE
Jodie was originally focused on fashion journalism and even though her current situation isn’t directly related to magazine work experience, the experience she gained from Attitude and The Face no doubt fed her interest and got her to where she is now. She admits that ‘you have to jump into it, do as much as possible, you learn so much and there’s no other way to do it’.
